Network-adjacent authentication bypass via crafted HNAP header
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Authentication bypass in D-Link DIR-2150 firmware 1.05B01 allows network-adjacent attackers to access protected functions via HNAP. The SOAP API on TCP port 80 accepts a crafted authentication header as valid without proper credentials. The interface listens by default, so an attacker able to reach the router's local network can bypass access control and invoke protected SOAP actions.
