Root command execution via unvalidated SOAP target
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Command injection in D-Link DIR-2150 firmware 1.05B01 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute commands as root. The SOAP API's GetFirmwareStatus Target field reaches a system call on TCP port 80 without proper validation of the supplied string. Access requires local-network reachability; authentication is nominally required, but the existing authentication mechanism can be bypassed.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
