Root code execution via EmailTo command injection
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
OS command injection in D-Link DIR-2150 firmware 1.05B01 and earlier allows network-adjacent attackers to execute arbitrary code as root. The SetSysEmailSettings SOAP operation passes the attacker-controlled EmailTo value to a system call without proper validation. Authentication is required, but the existing authentication mechanism can be bypassed; successful exploitation grants root-context command execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
