Code execution via out-of-bounds FPJ parser write
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in FATEK Automation FvDesigner 1.6.24 allows attackers to execute code by opening a crafted FPJ file. The FPJ parser fails to validate user-supplied data before writing it past the end of an allocated data structure. Opening the file or visiting a page that supplies it is required, and successful exploitation runs code in the current process context.
