User metadata changes via missing nonce validation
Published Jun 28, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Salon Booking System 8.4.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter WordPress user metadata via forged requests. The save_customer function accepts state-changing customer fields without validating a WordPress nonce, including fields controlling roles and arbitrary user metadata. Exploitation requires an administrator to submit the attacker-controlled request, enabling administrator demotion to customer or user-metadata overwrites.
