CVE-2023-34260Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Web-service outage via directory traversal request

Published Nov 3, 2023 · Updated Sep 5, 2024

Denial of service in KYOCERA Command Center RX on TASKalfa 4053ci through 2VG_S000.002.561 allows remote attackers to halt its web service. The HTTPS service on TCP port 443 treats an encoded traversal path ending in the /etc directory as a file request, enters an error state, and stops responding. No authentication is required; one crafted request makes the interface unavailable to all users until the service is restarted, while the separate web application on port 8083 remains responsive.
