Unauthenticated file disclosure via encoded path traversal
Published Nov 3, 2023 · Updated Sep 6, 2024
Path traversal in Kyocera TASKalfa 4053ci through 2VG_S000.002.561 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary device files. Command Center RX accepts URL-encoded traversal segments at an unauthenticated HTTPS endpoint, bypassing the earlier path filter. The web service returns requested files with its service privileges, exposing sensitive system data including root-only password hashes.
