CVE-2023-34236Network attack vector

Sensitive data exposure via Terraform runner logging

Published Jul 14, 2023 · Updated Oct 22, 2024

Sensitive information exposure in TF-controller before 0.14.4 and 0.15.0-rc.1 through 0.15.0-rc.4 allows remote authenticated users to read pod logs. The tf-runner directs terraform-exec output and errors to process streams, causing ShowPlan, ShowPlanRaw, and Output to log configurations and tokens. Access requires permission to retrieve runner pod logs; exposed tokens can grant control of Terraform-managed resources.
