Authenticated arbitrary file deletion via certificate path traversal
Published Aug 17, 2023 · Updated Oct 2, 2024
Path traversal in Moxa industrial router firmware allows remote authenticated users to overwrite or delete arbitrary files through the web service. The certificate-delete function uses an insufficiently validated certificate path for a filesystem operation, allowing traversal outside the intended certificate directory. Low-privileged web-interface access is required, and successful file manipulation can corrupt critical programs or libraries and interrupt or alter device operation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
