Arbitrary file writes via unsafe ZIP extraction
Published Oct 17, 2023 · Updated Sep 13, 2024
Path traversal in MailHunter Ultimate 2023 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to write files outside the template directory. The create-template function extracts crafted ZIP entries without confining their resolved paths to the intended extraction directory. A valid account and crafted archive are required, and successful exploitation writes attacker-supplied files into arbitrary server directories.
