CVE-2023-34166Network attack vector

Device reboot via abnormal API callbacks

Published Jun 19, 2023 · Updated Dec 11, 2024

Resource-consumption flaws in HarmonyOS 2.0.0 through 3.1.0 and EMUI 11.0.1 through 13.0.0 allow remote attackers to reboot affected devices. Abnormal callback values passed to unspecified APIs trigger the restart; Huawei has not identified the affected APIs or disclosed the missing validation or resource-control operation. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation interrupts device availability through a system reboot.
