Uninstall prevention via spoofed desktop trustlist
Published Jun 19, 2023 · Updated Dec 11, 2024
Trustlist spoofing in Huawei HarmonyOS 2.0.0 through 3.1.0 and EMUI 12.0.0 and 13.0.0 allows remote attackers to hide app icons. Huawei has not disclosed how the desktop trustlist authenticates an app or which request or identifier can be spoofed. No privileges or user interaction are required; a hidden third-party app remains installed because its icon is unavailable for normal uninstallation.
