SYSTEM code execution via exposed NT Listener function

Local privilege escalation in Trend Micro Apex One 2019 allows local users to execute arbitrary code as SYSTEM through the Security Agent. The Apex One NT Listener service exposes a dangerous function that writes attacker-controlled values to protected Trend Micro agent registry subkeys. Low-privileged code execution on a Windows endpoint is required, after which the attacker gains SYSTEM privileges.
