CVE-2023-34145

SYSTEM code execution via untrusted module loading

Published Jun 26, 2023 · Updated Dec 5, 2024

Untrusted search path in the Apex One 2019 Security Agent allows local users to execute arbitrary code as SYSTEM through a plug-in service. The Apex One Client Plug-in Service Manager loads a module from an untrusted location instead of restricting resolution to trusted directories. Exploitation requires prior low-privileged code execution on an affected Windows endpoint and grants SYSTEM-level execution.
