CVE-2023-34143Network attack vector

Traffic interception via unchecked certificate hostnames

Published Jul 18, 2023 · Updated Oct 21, 2024

Improper certificate hostname validation in Hitachi Device Manager before 8.8.5-02 allows remote attackers to intercept protected traffic. The Device Manager Server, Device Manager Agent, and Host Data Collector accept a certificate whose identity does not match the requested host. An attacker positioned between a component and its peer can impersonate the peer and read or modify traffic handled by the affected connection.
