CVE-2023-34120

Local privilege escalation

Published Jun 13, 2023 · Updated Jan 2, 2025

Improper privilege management in Zoom Windows clients before 5.14.0 allows local users to spawn processes with elevated privileges. Zoom has not published the affected component or the operation that mishandles privileges; the record states only that client-held higher privileges can spawn processes. A user must already have authenticated local access, and successful exploitation yields process execution at the higher privilege level maintained by the client.
