CVE-2023-34119

Local privilege escalation via insecure temporary file

Published Jul 11, 2023 · Updated Nov 7, 2024

Insecure temporary-file handling in Zoom Rooms for Windows before 5.15.0 allows local users to gain elevated privileges. Zoom identifies an insecure temporary file in the installer and maps it to an untrusted search path, but has not disclosed the file, path, or privileged operation that consumes it. Exploitation requires an authenticated local account and installer access; successful abuse grants higher privileges on the Windows room computer.
