CVE-2023-34112Network attack vector

Authenticated runner command execution via interpolated commit messages

Published Jun 8, 2023 · Updated Jan 6, 2025

Command injection in JavaCPP Presets before 1.5.9 allows remote authenticated users to execute shell commands via crafted commit messages. Its GitHub Actions interpolate github.event.head_commit.message directly into run scripts, so the runner shell parses attacker-controlled text as commands. A GitHub account and pull request are required; after an initial valid pull request, commands run on CI runners and can access referenced secrets or repository tokens.
