Workflow code execution via unescaped pull-request title
Published Jun 6, 2023 · Updated Jan 7, 2025
Command injection in TAOS Data TDengine Datasource Plugin through commit 2e4c82b002 allows remote attackers to run code in GitHub Actions. The Release PR Merged workflow interpolates github.event.pull_request.title directly into a Bash command, so shell metacharacters become runner commands. A crafted pull-request title must reach the workflow; successful execution runs with the workflow token and can expose accessible secrets or consume runner resources.
