CVE-2023-34097Public exploit

Full database access via logged connection credentials

Published Jun 5, 2023 · Updated Jan 8, 2025

Sensitive-data exposure in the Hoppscotch backend before 2023.4.5 allows local users with log access to obtain the database password. The backend bootstrap function in packages/hoppscotch-backend/src/main.ts writes the entire DATABASE_URL environment variable to standard output, including embedded database credentials. Access to server or container logs is required; the disclosed credential grants full access to the configured database.
