CVE-2023-33990Public exploit

Service crash via writable shared memory objects

Published Jul 11, 2023 · Updated Nov 8, 2024

Incorrect permissions in SAP SQL Anywhere Server 17.0 allow local users to crash the service or alter shared-memory data on Windows. Windows shared memory objects receive permissions that let low-privileged local accounts write data used by the database service. Local system access and a low-privileged account are required; corrupting these objects can interrupt database access and alter sensitive in-memory data.
