System compromise via traversal-based file overwrite
Published Jul 11, 2023 · Updated Oct 23, 2024
Path traversal in SAP NetWeaver BI Content Add-On 707, 737, 747, and 757 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite system files. SAP identifies BW-BCT-GEN report RSXSA_MASS_DATA_GENERATOR as the affected locus but has not published the faulty path-handling operation. Non-administrative SAP authorization is sufficient; exploitation cannot read confidential files but can corrupt system files and compromise the host.
