CVE-2023-33965Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Drive-by code execution via unsanitized tproxy arguments

Published Jun 1, 2023 · Updated Jan 9, 2025

Command injection in TxThinking Brook before 20230606 allows remote attackers to execute commands through a victim's browser. The tproxy /start handler appends the untrusted args request parameter to the Brook executable command and passes the result to /bin/sh -c without neutralization. Exploitation requires a user with tproxy's web listener running to visit an attacker-controlled page; resulting commands run with the Brook process's privileges.
