Authenticated file disclosure via unchecked project identifier
Published Jun 5, 2023 · Updated Jan 8, 2025
Authorization bypass in Kanboard before 1.2.30 allows remote authenticated users to read other users' uploaded image files. BaseController::getFile() accepted a user-controlled file_id and failed to verify that the retrieved file belonged to the requested project_id. A valid low-privilege account is required, and the documented consequence is unauthorized disclosure of stored image attachments.
