Arbitrary SQL execution via primary-key index name
Published May 24, 2023 · Updated Oct 22, 2024
SQL injection in the SQL Server upgrade process for Liferay Portal and Liferay DXP allows attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands. The upgrade logic incorporates a database table's primary-key index name into an SQL command without neutralizing SQL syntax. Exploitation requires another attack to modify the database before an administrator starts an upgrade, so ordinary runtime requests do not trigger the flaw.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
