CVE-2023-33944Network attack vector

Privileged stored XSS via fragment URL field

Published May 24, 2023 · Updated Oct 22, 2024

Cross-site scripting in Liferay Portal 7.3.4 through 7.4.3.68 and DXP 7.3 and 7.4 releases allows remote authenticated users to inject script. The Layout module accepts a crafted container-type layout fragment URL value and renders it without neutralizing embedded HTML or JavaScript. High-privilege access is required to store the payload, and another user's browser must render the fragment for script to run in the portal origin.
