Stored script execution via unescaped profile fields
Published May 24, 2023 · Updated Oct 22, 2024
Stored XSS in Liferay Portal 7.4.3.21 through 7.4.3.62 and DXP 7.4 updates 21 through 62 allows remote authenticated users to inject script. The Account module stores crafted First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, or Job Title values and later exposes them without sufficient HTML neutralization. A low-privileged account and a separate user's viewing action are required; successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled script in that viewer's browser.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
