Reflected XSS via unescaped OAuth redirect parameters
Published May 24, 2023 · Updated Oct 22, 2024
Reflected XSS in Liferay Portal 7.4.3.41 through 7.4.3.52 and Liferay DXP 7.4 update 41 through 52 allows remote attackers to run script. OAuth2ProviderApplicationRedirect concatenates the code and error request parameters into a JavaScript object inside an HTML response without context-appropriate escaping. Exploitation requires a user to follow a crafted OAuth redirect URL; injected script then runs in that user's browser under the portal origin.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
