CVE-2023-33904

Local service interruption via unchecked buffer read

Published Jul 12, 2023 · Updated Dec 4, 2024

Buffer over-read in UNISOC hci_server on affected chipsets running Android 10 through Android 12 allows local users to interrupt hci_server. The component reads past a buffer after processing an unspecified input without the required bounds check; no affected function or input format is public. Exploitation requires local access and Android System privileges; the vendor does not identify whether interruption involves a crash, hang, reboot, or shutdown.
