CVE-2023-33847Network attack vector

Information disclosure via insecure cookie attribute

Published Jun 8, 2023 · Updated Jan 6, 2025

Information disclosure in IBM CICS TX Standard 11.1 allows remote attackers to obtain authorization or session cookies via links sent over HTTP. The product omits the Secure attribute when setting these cookies, so a browser sends them to an insecure HTTP destination where traffic can be observed. Exploitation requires a victim to follow or encounter an attacker-supplied HTTP link; the demonstrated consequence is cookie confidentiality loss without integrity or availability impact.
