Authenticated script execution via stored rack names
Published May 24, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in NetBox 3.5.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in another user's browser through a crafted rack name. The Create Rack workflow accepts HTML in the Name field, and the rack-reservation selector later renders the stored value as executable markup instead of text. Low-privileged access to create racks and a victim who opens the Add Rack Reservation form are required; execution is confined to the victim's browser context.
