Stored script execution via unescaped site-group names
Published May 24, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in NetBox 3.5.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser through a site-group name. The /dcim/site-groups/ Name field accepts crafted HTML and later renders it when a site form displays the group, without neutralizing the stored markup. An authenticated account able to create site groups and interaction by another user are required; the resulting script runs in the victim's browser context.
