Stored XSS via unsanitized tenant-group name rendering
Published May 24, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in NetBox 3.5.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in another user's browser through a tenant-group name. The Create Tenant Groups form stores attacker-supplied HTML in the Name field, and the site-creation view renders that name as executable markup. The attacker needs permission to create a tenant group, and a victim must open a view that renders the crafted name; execution is confined to the victim's NetBox browser session.
