CVE-2023-33780Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Script execution via unsanitized news article bodies

Published May 26, 2023 · Updated Jan 14, 2025

Stored XSS in TFDi Design smartCARS 3 0.7.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run scripts through news article bodies. The news endpoint stores the article body without neutralizing embedded event-handler markup, so smartCARS renders and executes the payload when the article is displayed. Posting a news article requires an authenticated user, and execution occurs in another user's client after the article loads and the crafted link is hovered.
