Communication disclosure via shared default TLS certificate
Published Jan 25, 2024 · Updated Jun 17, 2025
Improper certificate validation in SpliceCom Maximiser Soft PBX 1.5 and earlier allows attackers to eavesdrop on SSL Gateway traffic. The SSL Gateway installs a vendor-supplied self-signed certificate without prompting administrators to replace it, while supported clients trust that certificate by default. Exploitation requires interception and redirection of a client connection, exposing authentication credentials and other gateway communications carried inside the TLS session.
