Improper attempt restriction in Inpiazza Cloud WiFi before 4.2.17 allows attackers to take over captive-portal accounts via password recovery. The recovery endpoint reveals whether a submitted telephone number is registered, then issues an eight-character alphanumeric password without limiting guesses. Access to the WiFi captive portal is required; a successful brute-force attempt exposes the targeted account credentials and permits network login.
