Stored XSS via unfiltered tag category name
Published May 25, 2023 · Updated Jan 31, 2025
Stored XSS in mipjz 5.0.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser through a tag category name. ApiAdminTagCategory.php accepts the name value in categoryAdd without validation or filtering and stores attacker-supplied HTML event-handler content. A session is required to create the category, and execution occurs when another user deletes it, enabling browser-context data access or actions.
