Unauthenticated root access via passwordless su
Published Jul 27, 2023 · Updated Oct 23, 2024
Privilege escalation in TeleAdapt RoomCast TA-2400 1.0 through 3.1 allows remote attackers to gain root access via an ADB shell. The Android node exposes unauthenticated ADB on TCP port 5555, and its su command promotes the resulting shell to root without a password. Remote attackers must reach the appliance's Ethernet or wireless network; root access permits reading or modifying all Android-node data and interrupting casting.
