Unauthenticated shell access via exposed ADB
Published Jul 27, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Improper access control in TeleAdapt RoomCast TA-2400 1.0 through 3.1 allows remote attackers to obtain an Android shell through ADB. The Android node leaves ADB listening on TCP port 5555 and accepts a connection and shell request without authentication. Reachability requires access to the appliance network by Ethernet or Wi-Fi; the exposed service grants a non-root shell, while root elevation is tracked separately.
