CVE-2023-33742Public exploit

Root SSH access via embedded private key

Published Jul 27, 2023 · Updated Oct 23, 2024

Cleartext key storage in TeleAdapt RoomCast TA-2400 1.0 through 3.1 allows remote attackers to obtain root SSH access. Update.exe embeds the unencrypted RSA private key accepted by the appliance OpenWRT node, allowing extraction directly from the firmware package. Access requires reachability to the RoomCast local network; successful key authentication grants unrestricted root control over traffic, configuration, and device availability.
