Administrator takeover via stored customer email XSS
Published Jun 21, 2023 · Updated Dec 6, 2024
Stored XSS in Broadleaf Commerce 5.0.0-GA through 6.2.6-GA allows remote attackers to execute script via a crafted customer email. The customer email value is saved to the database and later rendered without output encoding on checkout pages and the administration customer list. An administrator must view the planted address; the script then runs in that session and can submit requests that create a fully privileged administrator account.
