Router crash via oversized parental-control time value
Published Jun 2, 2023 · Updated Jan 8, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC8 firmware 16.03.34.06 allows remote attackers to crash the router with a crafted HTTP request. The get_parentControl_list_Info function accepts an overlong time parameter at /goform/saveParentControlInfo and writes past stack storage because the value lacks an enforced length bound. No authentication or user interaction is required; the published proof of concept demonstrates a service crash, while code execution for this function is not established.
