Memory corruption via unchecked firewall parameter
Published Jun 2, 2023 · Updated Jan 8, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC8 V4 firmware 16.03.34.06 allows remote attackers to corrupt memory via firewallEn. The formSetFirewallCfg handler accepts the firewallEn request parameter without enforcing the capacity of its stack buffer. The request requires no privileges or user interaction, and successful exploitation crashes the router or corrupts its execution state.
