Stored XSS via CSRF settings update
Published Aug 30, 2023 · Updated Oct 1, 2024
Stored XSS in Kreci Subscribers Text Counter before 1.7.1 allows remote attackers to inject scripts through an administrator's settings update. The settings update handler accepts requests without a CSRF token and stores fields without sanitizing or escaping them before output. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to submit the forged request; the stored script then executes in a viewer's browser.
