Authenticated SQL injection via unquoted order_by input
Published Jun 9, 2023 · Updated Jan 6, 2025
SQL injection in The Daylight Studio FUEL CMS 1.5.2 allows remote authenticated users to read or alter database data via a crafted id. The Blocks import_view path passes the POST id through MY_Model::__call, stores it in other_args, and sends it unquoted to order_by for execution. A valid CMS login is required to reach the import endpoint, and successful injection gives the database query the attacker's supplied SQL structure.
