Authenticated code execution via unrestricted PHP upload
Published Nov 7, 2023 · Updated Sep 5, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in RemoteClinic 2.0 allows remote attackers with low-privileged credentials to execute code through a PHP shell. The staff registration endpoint accepts an attacker-selected access level without authorization checks, while the staff profile-edit page stores PHP images in a web-accessible path without file-type validation. Low-privileged credentials suffice to create an administrator, upload the shell, and run commands with web-server privileges.
