Root code execution via remote-mouse kiosk escape
Published Aug 9, 2023 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Code injection in Kramer VIA Connect² and VIA GO² before 4.0.1.1326 allows local users to execute code with root privileges. The remote-mouse interface lets a connected user escape kiosk mode by opening a settings explorer, launching a terminal, and invoking permitted sudo paths. Exploitation requires visibility of the device screen and an enabled remote mouse connection; successful access grants control of the appliance's underlying system.
