Authenticated SQL injection via task ID
Published May 26, 2023 · Updated Jan 14, 2025
SQL injection in Sourcecodester Faculty Evaluation System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to alter database data via the admin task endpoint. The manage_task.php handler concatenates the HTTP id parameter directly into a SELECT query, allowing crafted SQL expressions such as updatexml to execute and disclose database content. Exploitation requires authenticated administrative access to the endpoint; the demonstrated impact includes reading database information and potentially modifying data through SQL injection.
