User redirection via unvalidated date parameters
Published Jun 21, 2023 · Updated Dec 6, 2024
Open redirect in BlogEngine.NET 3.3.8.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to redirect users to attacker-controlled sites. The default.aspx Redirect function accepts unvalidated year and month query values, builds the rewrite target, and places it in an HTTP redirect. Exploitation requires a user to follow a crafted link, after which the browser leaves the trusted site for an attacker-controlled URL.
