Device reboot via oversized BLE RPC write
Published Aug 2, 2023 · Updated Oct 17, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in the BLE RPC path of Shelly Group SE's Shelly Pro 4PM 0.11.0 allows physically proximate attackers to reboot the device. A write to GATT handle 0x000d sets an arbitrary expected length, and oversized data written to handle 0x0008 drives the BLE stack beyond that boundary. Bluetooth access within radio range requires no authentication; the resulting reset interrupts relay control and can trigger a preconfigured script.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
